Star Wars: Halcyon Dawn
Halcyon, the namesake of the system is often described as paradise given form. The world is pristine and clear with very little industry and no communities larger than a few thousand. The planet contains one Australia-sized continent located in the equatorial tropics. Dense, humid jungles cover the interior with mild climates on the Western facing shoreline. The jewel of the planet however is the single volcanic island, Drazen isle which lays slightly North of the continent. Drazen island makes up the most civilized area of the planet and is known for its thriving tourism industry. Only the best services are available on the island and a vacation package here can easily run into the hundred of thousand credits range. The island also contains the headquarters of the Halcyon Trade Consortium which is known for conducting bio-medical research on floating platforms throughout the planet’s vast ocean. Additional research facilities on the planet’s oceans are often leased to outside corporations, creating yet another stream of revenue for HTC. HTC is also reliant upon the crops of pongia fruit grown in the jungles of Stormhaven. It is the extract from this fruit that make up a vital ingredient in the stimpacks most widely used today.
The continent of Stormhaven contains a race of tunnel-building near-humans known as the Doshq. The Doshq are a proud warrior society who have been known to violently oppose incursions into the continent’s interior. Their tunnels are massive and can stretch for hundreds of kilometers allowing raiding parties the ability to vanish out of sight if pursued. The Doshq maintain a trabalistic society and distrust outsiders to the extreme. All attempts to make envoys to the Doshq have beem met with violence. Despite the presence of the Doshq, research teams have become interested in the continent due to the fact that it is littered with stone ruins from a forgotten civilization. A few of the more bold tourists have even taken shore excursions away from the comfort of their island resorts to examine these strange cyclopian sights.
